We’ve all heard of concept cars, but concept wheels? Yes, it turns out, concept wheels.
On September 12, the Wheel Task Force of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) and the College for Creative Studies (CCS) kicked off a competition, open to seniors at CCS, to design “unique, steel-intensive wheel designs,” according to an AISI statement. As part of the project, “students will study successful technical developments in steel wheels,” the statement said, and try to “develop a new generation of 18- [to] 20-inch highly styled wheels.”
The hot new wheels are to be unveiled on October 11. Stay tuned for more.
