Goodyear’s new Eagle tire has won awards from Popular Mechanics and Popular Science, which called it one of the “100 most innovative products of the year.” The tire uses what Goodyear calls “ResponsEdge” technology, in which the “outboard sidewall of the tire is reinforced with a high-tech carbon-fiber insert that provides stiffness for responsive handling and steering precision.” The tire also has a “sound- and shock-absorbing [Kevlar] InsuLayer” over the belts, “to help provide a smooth, quiet ride” and “even treadwear.” Congratulations to Goodyear.
